Living Out Loud

I got into photography because it gave me a voice. For the first time in my life, I realized that I was holding onto something that really represented who I was. It gave me a reason. It gave me a purpose. And more importantly, it allowed me to Live Out Loud.

Living Out Loud means to love with reckless abandon; To play by my own rules; And to make things up as I go along and then make them work!

I believe photography is our way of connecting with the world. Showing my perspective. The greatest thing I could hope for in a photo would be a moment that reveals a person’s truest, most honest part of who they are.

I love photography! I’m smitten with the opportunity to curate life as I do it.

I’ve come to know that the thing that I cherish the most is creating relationships and creating connections. And photography has begun paving the way for me to make those connections both for photographers, clients, and anybody who’s passionate about photography.

Life is about finding that One Thing. The thing that connects you with other people. The thing that gives you purpose. The thing that empowers you to live Out Loud. And for me it’s photography.

Hi, I’m Dereck! For me, my “why” has always been people focused. My goal in life is to make a positive impact in the lives of the people I’m around every day. I love the fact that I am blessed to spend my time with soon to be brides and grooms who are about to embark on a lifetime journey of their own. That my friend is a huge honor and blessing! My goal through this process as your Photographer is to impact your life beyond the lens of my camera. I love capturing magical moments that pop-up throughout this process, but I love just as deeply to speak into the lives of people like yourself. I love being able to help you focus on what is truly important during this journey and letting the other non-sensical things take care of themselves.
